“CÁDIZ, DE IDA Y VUELTA” – A dynamic flamenco show with a world music vision, from Leo Power, one of Spain’s leading Flamenco singers.
This event is part of the relaunched Flamenco Salon Series, that brings hand picked performances from amongst Spain’s leading flamenco artists to an intimate audience keen to appreciate the best of Flamenco in London.
“Cádiz de Ida y Vuelta” is a flamenco show which presents a variety of flamenco style and folklore with the characteristic flavour of Cadiz. As one of the birth places of flamenco, the Cadiz styles include Alegrias, tanguillos bulerias and chuflas. From the shared history of South American and Caribbean folk and flamenco arise the Cantes de Ida y vuelta (loosely translated as return trip songs). These are: Guajiras, Colombianas, Milongas, Rumbas and more recently the blend between flamenco, blues and jazz.
